“Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.”

Alleviating the responsibilities of professional whom are ready to catapult their success to the next level.

Many would agree Shakespeare said it best in Henry IV, “Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.” As a business professional, the burden of delivering the best ten out of ten times can be extremely stressful. One pride him or herself on exceptional service with every aspect of the business, and that is okay. However, as professionals, it is just as important to know your limits.

When the minutia, the details of conducting business, seem to take over the workday and the core of your business is fighting for priority it is time to set the limit. Limits that constrain the amount of time that is consumed by the minutia. Taking your success to the next level is dependent upon knowing these limits and effective time management skills that can be summed up in four D’s, delete, delay, diminish, and delegate.

To some degree everyone uses this concept of managing time, however the effectiveness of the concept is based upon tact. Knowing when to use each D at the appropriate time can allow for priorities to take front and center without the urgency to move to the next task, creating a conducive environment that allows for you to deliver your best every time.

The D for today’s focus is delegate. For some reason, potentially successful professionals often omit this strategy. Sadly that is detrimental for them to proceed to the next level of success. The conflict often is disguised in an array of excuses such as saving on cost of help or time to hire and train, or know one does it correctly but the truth of the matter, there isn’t an excuse worthy of consuming valuable time that can be used productively on matters that really matter.

Do not fall fool to these “savings”. In the long run you aren’t saving anything if you are out of business because you fail to delegate. Having another person to fill out the paper work, research a property, take phone calls allows you to do more profitable tasks such as work with your clients, market your business, stay on site longer to complete a project ahead of schedule, live life after hours!

Three Words Every Homeowner Should Know

Written by admin
March 26th, 2010

More than 2 million homeowners faced foreclosure proceedings last year. Today, millions more are in danger of losing their home. For many, foreclosure may seem inevitable, but there is still hope.

The three words every homeowner facing foreclosure should know is “PRODUCE THE NOTE”. For some, it can stop foreclosure, for others, it can buy the time (10 to 12 months) needed to find resolution to what has become a national problem. In light of President Obama’s $50 billion plan to help homeowners, there is still hope.

By requesting the bank to produce the original mortgage document, homeowners can stall a foreclosure and remain in their home. This move is a vital part of the produce-the-note strategy. It is easier to rally help to save a home when the homeowner is still in it.

For more information on fighting foreclosure, visit the Consumer Warning Network’s website, http://www.consumerwarningnetwork.com/2008/06/19/produce-the-note-how-to/ .

Many homeowners facing foreclosure did not have a credit score high enough to qualify for lower interest rates. They they were given a lower interest rate, initially, to complete the sale. Problems arose when the introductory rates increased in accordance to the homeowner’s credit score. Your credit score determined the interest rate of your current mortgage; low score, high interest.

A low credit score and a desire to become a homeowner made millions of people vulnerable to the mortgage trap that has led to the current foreclosure nightmare. That can be reversed! Repairing your credit can give you the leverage necessary to come out of this economic crisis better than when you entered it.

Get educated on how your credit score is processed and how to improve it. Positive credit pulls your score higher; negative credit pulls your score lower. We can help you permanently remove the negative, allowing the positive to pull your score higher.

For more information on how we can provide you with a second chance with credit, visit our website, pnmsolutions.fixcreditbiz.com. It’s simple, it’s easy and you deserve a second chance.

PNM Solutions, LLC and Fix Credit Biz gives you the leverage you need for the fresh start you deserve.

The Winds Are Shifting

As the economy tries to find its footing will you be better or worse than when chaos broke loose?

Snatching up the lines and grabbing the cooler we ran down the pier just steps in front of the massive, violent storm. A few minutes ago we were casting out our lines and enjoying a warm salty breeze on the pier. The scene was picturesque; beautiful hues painting the sky as the sun kissed the waves on the horizon. There was no place I would rather be. Suddenly, the winds shifted and the sky became dark and angry. Groaning thunder, a restless wind, and wicked lightning were upon us. It happened instantly. The rain chased us off the pier. We made it to the car before the downpour but we were caught in the rain anyway because we couldn’t find the keys. Although we were completely saturated, I still think of these as memories of good times.

Reminiscing on the misadventures we had growing up brings a smile to my face. I drift back to reality only to realize I am looking for the good times in this storm, but it’s hard to see. I face another storm, but this is a storm of life. It’ not a storm of rain and thunder, but it can be just as frightening. The post card scene is now the home of my dreams and the relentless storm is the foreclosure I face. Where are the good times in an uncertain future? Hold on, help is on the way.

During and after a foreclosure, plans of moving forward can be difficult with a low credit score. There is still hope and good times can still be found. The Only Constant is Change

Change doth unknit the tranquil strength of men. –Matthew Arnold “A Question”

This is the first post in our newly named The Egghead Corner. I had planned to first post quotes this week on the family. As this post develops you’ll see the reason for the change.

A butterfly is a delicate and beautiful creature. Few people know that the butterfly’s brilliance is attributed to its struggle to emerge from its cocoon. And as delicate as it looks, it possesses a strength that cannot be measured. The very life of a butterfly is a testament to its struggle and strength.

So how does all of this relate to Matthew Arnold’s quote and the change in this week’s theme? Beginning with the quote, “Change doth unknit the tranquil strength of men”.

I understand this to mean that change, doing things differently (voluntarily or involuntarily), can cause the peace producing strength or maybe it’s the strength producing peace of men to come undone. I began to feel a loss of peace and strength last week when I was faced with a major change in my personal life. For a few days I was unsettled and very resistant to the change, until it was confirmed in my spirit that this is a turning point in my life.

It’s not the first turning point in my life and I’m certain it won’t be the last one. Just four years ago I came to a city far from my family with nothing but my prayers for a better life. Today, I am thriving again. My life has regained some sanity and I’m now a grandmother, future violinist and business owner. I didn’t know how I would make it, but I knew that I wanted to make it. Change had unknit my tranquil strength before, but I survived. Through it all, I reminded myself that my very life depended on my struggle to be free of my cocoon, like the butterfly.

You see,the more a butterfly struggles to be free, the more blood is pumped into its wings. The more blood the wings receive, the more brilliant its colors will be. If a butterfly is aided in anyway in its escape from its cocoon, its wings will be underdeveloped and colorless, it cannot fly and it will soon die. I’m at another turning point in my life in which the aid of others may lead to my death, but I must continue in the struggle to survive.

Yes, change doth unknit the tranquil strength of men, but it does not shake an unshakable God. Whatever I face, I don’t face it alone. What newness the change brings is not new to I AM so I’ll wait in the shadow of the Most High, as this uncertainty too shall pass. In my waiting, I’m strengthening my wings and from the magnitude of the struggle I’m experiencing now, my emergence will be awesome!

I could have stuck with the family theme for this week, but I wanted to celebrate being victorious once again (you get that a lot when Elohim is on your side).

Whatever change is taking place in your life today, and there is change taking place, face it flat-footed and confidently. Nana says, what don’t kill you will make you better. Look at the butterfly.

Change Ain’t Change Until You Change

Written by admin
March 26th, 2010

“Change is inevitable in a progressive society. Change is constant” –Benjamin Disraeli (Speech, Oct. 29, 1867)

Change isn’t always welcomed and it’s not always easy. I think the way you mentally approach change affects how long it takes the change to take place.

One hundred and forty two years ago, Benjamin Disraeli was a catalyst of change in the British government. Benjamin Disraeli (1804 – 1881) was a novelist, debater and England’s first and only Jewish Prime Minister. His political beliefs were not traditional and he faced lots of opposition during his political career. Before becoming England’s Prime Minister in 1837, he failed to win in four earlier elections.

The thinking of the majority delayed the change Disraeli was promoting, but it could not deny it. In a speech, October 29, 1967, Disraeli said, ”change is inevitable in a progressive society. Change is constant.” His political accomplishments are a testament of that fact. Whenever his ideas were opposed he did not give up. Actually he wrote a book following major opposition and kept his ideas alive. The change was unavoidable.

Recently, my pastor preached a sermon he titled, Change Ain’t Change Until You Change. It’s a catchy title, but it holds a great truth. There are times when you’re undergoing a change in which you have to let go of the past and the old. It could be past failures, methodologies, or an old way of thinking that we need to release. The change can not be complete until you accept a new way of seeing things or a new way of doing things.

Change can not be defined or qualified as change until you change. This is a change within yourself, not your circumstances. A change in our circumstance or environment does not always have the same impact on us as a change that comes from within. An internal change is grounds for resistance. This is caused in part by the inescapable death of the past that must take place. Change is inevitable and it’s constant. We can’t stop it, but we can control the process.

How we respond to change affects the outcome and remember change ain’t change until you change.

Are you counting time or making time count?

Written by admin
March 26th, 2010

New technology can change how you communicate for the better by giving more intimacy and relations like never before.

A wise person once said, “Don’t count every hour in the day, make every hour in the day count.” As a culture, we have grown to incorporate technology into our everyday lives as much as possible to “save” time. When the fact of the matter is the amount of time we have today is the same amount of time we had yesterday. So the real question is how can we use time more effectively?

How can the busy business owner manage staff meetings for multiple locations and not lose a business day? How can the maxed out mom maintain a career and still keep grandparents current with growing children? How can community committees meet after work and not sacrifice a sit down dinner with their families?

The Iris 3000 video phone!

It’s the phone conferencing face to face. It’s showing Grandma you lost your first tooth. It’s having the round table discussion at your table. Stop letting your time get lost in the hustle and bustle of life and reclaim it with new liberties.

“Don’t count every hour in the day, make every hour in the day count.” Lose the commute, make the connection. Check out the Iris 3000 as featured on The Apprentice at acnprimetime.com. A Beautiful Day on the Cape Fear Coast

Do you want more memories of your favorite pasttimes but the busyness of work only leaves time for day dreaming? Let a Virtual Assistant help you get back to creating memories. Set up your office to work virtually and let a VA hlep you achieve more in less time.

I was raised on the coast of North Carolina. I currently live in Philadelphia. Spring in Philadelphia is still cool, yet I always expect spring to be much warmer. The way it is in North Carolina. Every spring, for the last four years, I have gotten homesick. I reflect on memories of the Azalea Festival parade, the party at 10th Street Park afterwards and family and friends coming home for Spring Break and Easter. What I miss the most is preparing for the beach and water sports.

Water sports and activities such as fishing, jet skiing, sailing, crabbing, clam digging, and swimming. I like dining on the Henriette riverboat as the sun is setting or cruising the Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW) on the Winner Queen until midnight. These activities can take you from the Cape Fear River to the ICWW to beaches along the Carolina coast. My favorite of all these activities is fishing.

Unlike the other activities that are fun the more it increases your heart rate, fishing brings a calm and serenity that cannot be explained, nor compared. I fish on the river, the pond, the surf and the pier. My personal preference is fishing off the pier. There is something about standing at the end of a pier looking out on the ocean. The ocean seems to go on forever. I always wonder what’s beyond the horizon.

Fishing on the pier does not compare to the river or pond because it come with sound effects that cannot be duplicated. At low tide the sound is a mesmerizing lapping that lulls you into a peaceful trance. At high tide the sound is of crashing waves that is a beautiful exhibition of power.

I fish during the day and over night; both are a memorable experience. During the day I wonder how the breeze remains cool and constant and at night, I roll out the sleeping bag and alternate shifts with my husband. At night, I sleep more than I fish. You know how a summer storms lulls you into a deep sleep. On a pier, the waves beneath you sing a lull-a-bye that is irresistible.
There is an old adage that says, “Give a man a fish, you feed him for the day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime.” I say, “Just go fishing; there’s nothing else like it”.
